Travelling Salesman (2012)

Traveling Salesman
is a 2012 American independent science fiction thriller film directed by director Timothy Lanzone. In the movie, three mathematicians discover an algorithm that solves the famous P=NP problem. However, the solution will have a huge impact on people in different segments of society, and mathematicians must consider what the consequences will be before making a decision.

The film is based on mathematical concepts, computer science, and philosophical discussions. It also touches on many cultural and social issues. "Traveling Salesman" had its world premiere at the 2012 Santa Barbara International Film Festival and was subsequently screened at various film festivals.

The plot of the movie tells the story of three scientists working to solve a long-debated mathematical problem among mathematicians called "P vs NP". The solution to this problem could increase the computational power of computers, which could be of great benefit in many fields.

The main characters of the film are young mathematician Ryan (Matthew Broderick), his student Agent Shultz (Tuppence Middleton), who has won many international math competitions, and his friend Cezary (Maximilian Schell), who is an expert in computer programming. Three scientists develop an algorithm that includes the solution of the "P vs NP" problem and decide to present it at a conference of international mathematicians.

However, they receive warnings about the potential dangers of the algorithm and decide to destroy the algorithm before the presentation. However, they learn that the algorithm has been lost and someone else has captured this dangerous information. Now they must race against time to destroy the algorithm or stop scientists around the world.
