The plot of the movie Equilibrium takes place in a dystopian future. Society conceived as utopia uses a drug to suppress people's emotional reactions. Thanks to this drug, there is no conflict or war in the society.

The movie tells the story of a Grammaton Cleric police officer named John Preston. Preston acts as a regular consumer of drugs used to suppress people's emotions. However, one day he decides that he cannot continue using the drug and this decision forces him to go against the system.

Preston is one of the top members of the Cleric organization, which protects emotional restraints. However, during an operation, he falls under the suspicion of his colleagues as he begins to express his own feelings. Meanwhile, he meets a group of people who feel like him and collect illegal artworks. These people are a group of revolutionaries who do not use drugs and freely express their feelings.

Preston joins these people and begins to fight against the Cleric organization. Meanwhile, he learns that he has been betrayed by the organization's leader, DuPont, and dedicates himself to fighting alongside other members of the organization. The film tells the story of Preston leading the freedom struggle and helping people regain their emotional freedom.
