Actor/director Larry Hagman brought forth this sequel to The Blob in which a woman unwittingly defrosts some gray matter her scientist husband brought back from the Arctic Circle. Soon, the insatiable goo proceeds to engulf anyone who may be in its close proximity.
Chester Hargis (Godfrey Cambridge) has just returned from a pipeline project in Alaska, where his crew unearthed a frozen piece of the original "blob". When his wife, Mariane (Marlene Clark) accidentally defrosts the thing, it immediately begins to consume every living thing around it, starting with a fly, Mariane's kitten, then Mariane and Chester themselves.
Lisa Clark (Gwynne Gilford) arrives at the Hargis home to find the blob eating Chester. Terrified, she rushes to see her boyfriend, Bobby (Robert Walker Jr.). Together they go to the Hargis' and find no sign of the creature, and the police do not believe Lisa's account of what happened.
Meanwhile, the blob continues to ooze through town, eating a number of characters along way, including a barber and his shaggy-haired client, a pair of hippies smoking marijuana in a storm drain, the policeman who attempts to bust the hippies, and the hoboes who live on the same farm where Bobby lives.
Lisa and Bobby first go back to Lisa's house, where a surprise party for Bobby's birthday is in full swing. Lisa is too distraught to enjoy herself, and Bobby takes her to his place for some quiet. The blob emerges from the barn and attempts to cover Bobby's truck, searching for a way in so it can eat Bobby and Lisa. Lisa accidentally turns on the truck's air conditioning, repelling the blob and allowing them to escape.
